In accordance with House Bill 1176, which amended State Statute O.C.G.A. 19-7-5, volunteers in public schools are now Mandated Reporters of Child Abuse. O.C.G.A. 19-7-5 is designed for the protection of children whose health and welfare are adversely affected and further threatened by the conduct of those responsible for their care and protection.

Process:
Volunteer fingerprinting (Level 3 applicants) will be done on Fridays only on a walk – in basis from 8am to 12pm and 1pm to 4pm at the Safety and Security Office at 1099 Battle Creek Road, Jonesboro, GA 30236. It is recommended that applicants call beforehand to ensure someone is there to do the fingerprinting. The phone number is: 678-479-2650 extension 240222
Volunteer Level 2 applications can be brought or sent to the office.
